<p>“This honor is a pipe dream. People cannot get this prize after a lifetime has passed. I’m really happy about it and proud of myself,” Shami said. Many people spend their whole lives as just spectators, watching others gain these honors. Many people still have unmet dreams, Shami said to ANI on Monday.</p>
<p>Since then, Shami has been sidelined due to an ailment that was somewhat treated at the World Cup. Shami is battling against time to recover in time for the Test series against England after missing the entire South Africa trip. Shami, though, is optimistic that he can recover in time for the series, which begins in Hyderabad on January 25.</p>
<p>“My recovery is proceeding according to plan, and the medical professionals at NCA are pleased with my development. My ankle is a little stiff, but not at all uncomfortable. I’ve begun my training, and I think the England series will allow me to make a return. When I return, I want to focus on the series,” Shami told TOI.</p>
<p>India’s five-match Test series will be their third assignment in the current World Test Championship (WTC) cycle, while England’s will be their second. England and Australia tied the Ashes series 2-2 in June and July.</p>
