Himmat Singh, a right-handed batsman, has taken Dhull’s spot as captain. Himmat’s first task will be to captain the team at the encounter with Jammu and Kashmir.

The Delhi and District Cricket Association’s (DDCA) decision to remove Dhull from leadership seems unexpected. The 21-year-old had hoped for a longer tenure as captain from the DDCA, but that didn’t work out.

The call was supported, according to DDCA joint secretary Rajan Manchanda, by the board, which wants “out of form” Dhull to “do well as a batter”.

Although Yash is a gifted player, his form is lacking. We removed him from captaincy because we wanted him to succeed as a hitter. Our senior player, Himmat, has performed admirably for the team. “He will lead the team,” Rajan Manchanda, joint secretary of the DDCA, told PTI.

In particular, Delhi had a fantastic opportunity to start the Ranji Trophy 2024 season strong because they were hosting Puducherry at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Dhull scored just two runs as the hosts were bowled out for just 148 in 62.5 overs, failing to capitalize on their home field advantage.

As the England Tests approach, Shami describes receiving the Arjuna Award as a “dream” and gives an injury update.
The visitors’ main wrecker, seamer Gaurav Yadav, grabbed a seven-for in his 26.5 overs while only giving up 49 runs.

Despite their excellent bowling, Delhi’s bowlers were unable to stop Puducherry from gaining a 104-run advantage. In the second innings, Dhull (23 off 40 balls) was unable to make a significant score once more as Delhi was swept out for 145 and could only manage to put up a target of 50 for Puducherry to chase.

The visitors crossed the finish line with nine wickets remaining as Delhi suffered a humiliating loss at home.
